Cat Got What He Wanted

Here is my cat on Christmas morning. We all laughed because he appeared to be the one who enjoyed his present the most. He loves scratching his chin on anything he can find.

Merry Christmas!

This is our light display at my house. We don't have it choreographed to music or anything like that. The lights don't even blink. In this picture it makes my house look funny because you can't see the roof.

We hope you and your family have a great time celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who came to earth as a baby the first time and will return the second time as King!

Making tracks for Christmas

Now it is only 2 days until Christmas. Time to make tracks to the store one more time to get a few food and gift items. I have put off getting ready for Christmas this year more than ever. Time to catch up.

It has been chilly here in Florida, down to the 40's at night, but it is sunny today and supposed to reach 70 degrees.

I Wish I Were a Cat!

Christmas is only 3 days away and I am not ready. I wish I were a cat instead of a mom on weeks like this. This is my cat's idea of a busy day. I just hope he doesn't wear himself out today!

Christmas Hibiscus

A few years ago my boys gave me this hibiscus for a Christmas present. It is doing its best this year to be ready for Christmas with green leaves and lots of pretty red flowers.

Photo Friday: Depth of Field

This is from the top of the Skyway Bridge. I thought it looked like a deep picture.

Mickey Power Poll

I finally got a picture of the Mickey power poll. My son took this picture for me because I always miss it. It is located near Interstate 4 near Disney World, but it always sneaks up on me and I miss taking the picture. I have never seen another one at Disney. You would think they would have all Mickey power polls, but as far as I know this is the only one.

Bungee Ball ride

Here is another picture from Daytona. We called this ride the "Bungee Ball". It was on the beach near our condo. We did not ride it, but it was fun watching other people ride it. Believe it or not there are two people strapped down and sitting in that small ball. They get shot straight up like a sling shot and then come down like on a bungee. The ride shoots the riders up several times. It goes really high, beyond the top of the supports. It is fun to watch the ride and hear the riders scream.

Chocolate shop

Here is a place we love to visit in Daytona. A candy store where they make the chocolate candy and other candy. You can walk back and see the women hand dipping all sorts of things in chocolate. They even make chocolate covered potato chips! The chocolate creams are my favorite. It is kind of expensive, but we don't shop there very often and it is worth it.

Photo Friday: Weight

This animal is not in Daytona and it isn't even in Florida. I had to find something with a lot of weight and this picture came to mind. This picture was taken on a trip to Connecticut. I have a few more Daytona pictures to share so check back tomorrow for more Florida pictures.

Pigeon

The pigeons were fun to watch in Daytona. They hung around the building we were staying in. They would eat chips off our balcony. If we dropped a crumb over the balcony they would dive six stories down to get it even if it was very small.

Seagulls

Just to be fair I am posting a picture of seagulls that were also at Daytona. I enjoy bird watching no matter where I am. Tomorrow I will post a picture of some other interesting birds I photographed. Stay tuned!

Daytona Condos

More pictures of Daytona Beach again. It is such a popular place that they are building more and more condos and hotels for people to stay. We stayed in the smaller one in this picture on the 6th floor with an ocean view from the side of the building. The much larger building is newer. It reminds me of David and Goliath of condos. Of course a lot of the local people in Florida don't like these monster size condos that fill up the beach, but with so many people wanting to come to Florida new ones are being built every day.

Photo Friday: Experimental

We will take a break today from our trip to Daytona to show something experimental. I don't take many experimental pictures, but I thought this frog definitely was experimenting with color.

Please visit my other pictures on my blog called "I Love Florida".

Sandpipers

I absolutely love sandpipers. They are so cute and small as they scurry along the beach looking for food while trying to keep their feet dry. We saw a lot of the cute little birds in Daytona.
