One Room School
My father always told me that he attended a one room school as a boy. He lived in a rural part of Connecticut and here is his entire elementary or grammar school. There were only 9 children and one teacher. My dad is the one in the front right corner. His two older sisters and brother attended too. Four of the other children are also siblings from another family. One boy attended alone without other family members. The date on this picture is about 1936. I noticed the 3 boys in the front were wearing neck ties. I don't know if they always wore ties or if that was just because it was picture day.
