Turkey Rods!
I missed a day of blogging because we went to Daytona Beach. It is the week of the Turkey Rod Run which is a huge old car show that takes over the town. Everywhere you look there are old classic cars from the 20's to the 90's. It is a history of cars. We stopped at a shopping center that was packed with old cars on display. There was no where to park. We finally found a spot and took a look at hundreds of old cars. I found this one that is a lot like my very first car, a Chevy Impala. Mine was red too, but didn't look as nice as this one. My kids can't believe that I once drove a cool car. Back in the 70's a car from the 60's wasn't as impressive as it is today.
Take a look at the link below to find out more about Daytona's Turkey Run.

Photo Friday: Evil
Let me explain. This is my nice cat Shadow. He is not evil, but he played an evil character in a video we made. He played the "Evil Dark Fang" in a video that you can watch on You Tube. Take a look!

Campfire
Here is a picture of the campfire from the Boy Scout troop 50th reunion. It was a chilly night and the fire felt good if you were close enough to feel it. They also showed a great slide presentation of pictures from the last 50 years. Many of the older members of the troop were at the reunion. It was interesting talking to a man who became an Eagle in the troop back in 1965 which is more than 20 years before any of the current boys in the troop were even born!

Train
In the center of our town is the main plant where they process oranges for Tropicana orange juice. This is the train that takes daily trips from Tropicana to places up north. Of course sometimes this train decides to leave town right during rush hour. If you are running late you can sometimes be held up for more than 5 minutes waiting for this long train filled with orange juice to leave town. If you have a bottle or carton of Tropicana OJ it was probably made in my town.

Fiddler on the Roof
Well, Blogger won't let me add a picture tonight, but maybe I can write something so I don't miss another day this month.
We went to the kid's school tonight and saw the play "Fiddler on the Roof". It is a popular play, but I had never seen it before although I was familiar with some of the songs. The play had a huge cast of at least 60 people. They really filled up the stage when they were all on doing a big number. There were faculty members and students in the play. They did a great job. The auditorium was almost full. If you are in the area they will be doing the same play again tomorrow night. Great job, MSA!!

Almost time for petunias
If you read my blog you know I like to plant and photograph flowers. There are not many flowers that can survive the hot Florida summer. Every year I plan to plant petunias in the yard. They are so pretty, but you can't grow them until fall and winter. Here are a few pretty red ones from last year. What color should I get this year?

Election Day
Here is a pretty red flower for election day. I work at the election office on election day only. I answer questions about voter eligibility. The polls are open for 12 hours and we have to be there 1 1/2 hours before they open and tonight I worked for four hours after they closed. I am tired from working more than 16 hours, but didn't want to miss another day of blogging this month.

Clouds
I thought these light feathery clouds were very pretty. All summer we have lots of cumulus clouds that bring rain and storms. These were different for a hot September evening.
There are bloggers around the world who are trying to post something every day in November. I thought I would try it too even though I missed the first 3 days of November. Stop by each day to see if I succeed every day for the rest of the month. Feel free to leave comments. I enjoy reading your opinions of my photos.

Skyway Bridge
Here is yet another picture I took of the Skyway Bridge across Tampa Bay. This one is taken from the fishing pier that is what is left of the old Skyway Bridge that was replaced and left for a fishing pier. Last week someone jumped off the Skyway Bridge center span which is 175 feet above the water and lived! The sheriff tried to get them to not jump, but they ran to the edge and jumped. Someone was waiting in a boat to fish their body out of the water and they were swimming. That is unusual for someone to survive. The news report said that jumpers on the bridge keep the authorities busy daily! The day we were at the fishing pier a Coast Guard helicopter was doing some kind of drill near the bridge. It hovered very close to the center span for a minute or two. Maybe they were practicing rescuing jumpers. Click on picture to enlarge and see a better view of the helicopter.
